Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate, 21/01/2022 – Bionorica appoints Dr Marco Linari to the Executive Board leading the Global Business. Dr Linari, who holds a doctorate in biochemistry, will thus be responsible for all marketing and sales activities at Bionorica worldwide as of April 1, 2022. “With more than 20 years of expertise in the pharmaceutical sector, his leadership track record and international experience, Dr Marco Linari will be instrumental for the growth and further internationalisation of Bionorica. Neumarkt, March 5, 2021 – In the 2020 financial year, Bionorica SE, which is active in over 40 countries, took a break during a growth phase that has lasted for many years. The manufacturer of herbal medicines from the Upper Palatinate was confronted with extraordinary challenges in many pharmaceutical markets due to the COVID-19 pandemic. State-mandated social distancing and hygiene measures, the wearing of masks, remote work regulations and lockdowns led to an almost complete absence of the usual waves of respiratory illnesses.
Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate, 6th May 2021 – This year, Bionorica is once again amongst the Axia Best Managed Companies and has, as in 2020 and 2011, received the quality seal for the best managed companies. The award was presented to the company in Neumarkt, Bavaria, by representatives of the management consultancy company Deloitte and the bank Credit Suisse.
Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate, 4th May 2021– Dr. Uwe Baumann, Head of Global Business, left Bionorica SE on the 30th April 2021. He joined the company in 2004 as the Head of Marketing and Sales and was responsible for the Global Business division since 2005.
Munich/Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate, 11th December 2020 – Bionorica SE, the manufacturer of herbal medicinal products based in the Upper Palatinate, has today been honoured in the “Bavaria’s Best 50” competition. Bavaria’s State Minister of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy Hubert Aiwanger says: “The coronavirus pandemic presents particular challenges for the Bavarian economy. The great capacity for innovation and the high degree of motivation of our Bavarian companies are not only growth factors, but also guarantors for successfully mastering this crisis. We have honoured the best 50 of them with the “Bavaria’s Best 50” award today.”
Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate, 15 May 2020 – Bionorica has been awarded the Best Managed Companies Award 2020. It was presented in Neumarkt by the management consultancy company Deloitte. This gives the manufacturer of phyto-pharmaceuticals the seal of quality of the best managed companies, which it previously received in 2011.
Neumarkt i.d.OPf., Düsseldorf, 06/03/2020 – With a strong dynamic edge compared to the competition, the Sinupret manufacturer Bionorica, market leader for scientifically researched herbal remedies, is expanding its position in Germany and other countries. At the annual press conference in Düsseldorf today, the group of companies announced a 7.3 percent increase in sales to EUR 333.5 million(3). Despite negative developments in various pharmaceutical markets, Bionorica's international sales actually increased by 10.75 percent to EUR 206 million.
Innsbruck, Austria, 03.09.2019 – The “Bionorica Award” was awarded to Prof. Dr. Nicole Teusch yesterday evening during the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA) conference Innsbruck at Swarovski Kristallwelten Wattens. Prof. Dr. Michael A. Popp, CEO of herbal remedy maker Bionorica SE, presented the science prize to the molecular pharmacologist from the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Osnabrück University. The Bionorica Award comes with prize money of EUR 10,000.
Neumarkt | Smiths Falls, Canada, 2 May 2019. Effective 1 May 2019, Bionorica SE has sold its cannabis business to Canopy Growth Corporation, a world-leading diversified cannabis and hemp company based in Smiths Falls, Canada and with operations in 13 countries across five continents. The selling price amounts to 225.9 million euros. The existing facilities in Neumarkt, Frankfurt and Vienna will continue to operate.
